Mackenzi Pergolotti, Ph.D., OTR/L is the director of research at ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation and an adjunct professor at Colorado State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
As an occupational therapist, Dr. Pergolotti worked at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) developing programs aimed to better address the needs of multiple populations after a cancer diagnosis.

Tight muscles can cause pain at the back of the shoulder and neck; it is worth understanding that the front muscles and scar may need attention. The sensation of pain and tightness may be less in the chest area but needs to be addressed.
